Services & Programs
The goal of Cronkite Development, Inc. (CDI) is to provide support services to disadvantaged and economically challenged families, in the San Francisco Bay Area. By collaborating with similar non-profits, CDI aims to deliver education, social support, and spiritual support services to those who need them most.
Educational ProgramsThe Educational Programs are designed to provide a variety of educational services youth and adults. Such services include parenting workshops, life skills training classes, spiritual leadership development, tutoring, and employment readiness training. The ultimate goal of the program is to develop leadership, enhance self-esteem, and equip the participants with the skills necessary to succeed in life.

Counseling & Support ProgramsThe Counseling and Support Programs provide parents and youth with essential skills to address conflict resolution, anger management and abuse. CDI activities also focus on gang violence prevention, teenage pregnancy, support groups, and crisis intervention workshops.

MentorshipThe Mentorship program offers guidance to youth who lack the presence of a positive role model. CDI screens and recruits volunteers that desire to impeach the lives of youth. Mentors offer assistance in homework, career choices, and provide life-skills training.
CDI also provides support services to adults through Parenting workshops. The workshops consist of video training, book education, and one-on-one guidance to assist with balancing work, family, love, and discipline. Wellness
The Wellness program provides health education training and workshops to assist with making healthy lifestyle choices. CDI activities consist of tobacco education, drug and alcohol prevention, and HIV awareness. The program also provides educational assistance and awareness for those who suffer from diabetes, strokes, and heart attacks. Other activities include recreational activities such as physical instruction and exercise to help reduce stress.
CDI also provides personal coaching and one-on-one care. Performing ArtsThe Performing Arts program equips youth and adults with the skills necessary to excel in performing arts. The activities are implemented by the organization program director and other non-profits.

Student TrainingThe Student Training provides youth and with essentials necessary to obtain employment. Participants with learn professional skills desired in the workspace, goal setting and how to develop a plan to achieve those goals. The activities will consist of career counseling, educational assistance with obtaining GED, employment training workshops, apprentice and on the job training. The program also works collaboratively with other community programs of this nature.
FundraisingFundraising activities include approximately two annual benefit events featuring prominent members of the community and development of a fundraising committee to provide directional support and program sustainability.
Housing AssistanceThe Housing Assistance program's specific purpose is to provide low-income housing assistance, and low-income housing advocacy.
